Netplan

Ubuntu 17.10 networking completely changed with the introduction of netplan, below the basic configuration to configure networking.

The new configuration files can be located at:

/etc/netplan/*.yaml

and to set a static IP address:

network:
 version: 2
 renderer: networkd
 ethernets:
   ens33:
     dhcp4: no
     dhcp6: no
     addresses: [192.168.1.2/24]
     gateway4: 192.168.1.1
     nameservers:
       addresses: [8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4]

and then to apply the changes:

sudo netplan apply
