How to install Skype on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal

Type the following in a terminal

sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release -sc) partner"

to add the correct repository and then to install skype

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install skype
